Constant zu ehren
I haven’t been to The Hague to visit Constant – New Babylon yet and am looking forward to it. I love Constant’s work.

For years I’ve downloaded NASA pictures of the universe and planetary systems. Not just because they’re beautiful but to use them for my own artworks. I’ve made sketches through the years and hardly ever made a print. In the end it were always my own pictures I used.
So I was rather excited today when I created a planetary landscape of a planet yet unknown.
I don’t know if and how I’m going to use them, but I’m happy with the discovery.
verhalen
Misschien gaat kunst ook over verhalen vertellen. Bij abstracte kunst zijn dat abstracte verhalen. Zonder kop noch staart, meer dan ‘gewone’ verhalen worden ze in het hoofd van de beschouwer gevormd. De kunstenaar schept ruimte voor verhalen.
the critic as an artist
Volgens Oscar Wilde moet kunst amoreel, persoonlijk, nutteloos en onwaarschijnlijk zijn. Kunst is een uiting van de kunstenaar. Rekening houden met anderen, publiek, kopers, verzamelaars, kijkers is dodelijk. Kunst is perse vrij/autonoom en doelloos.
En de goede kijker is criticus. Door een kritische, geïnteresseerde kijker komt het werk (opnieuw) tot leven en ontwikkelt het zichzelf.
Art is about contemplation.
